Christmas 2018 commenced in a special way for many of the residents of Fadeyi and environ, who converged at Tanimowo close, Fadeyi, Lagos, for the 2018 edition of the annual street praise jamz “Halleluyah Repete” (Plenty Halleluyah).

This year’s episode with the theme Praise Until Something Happens, P.U.S.H saw Christian faithfuls storm the venue in the early morning of Chrismas to offer raw praises to God with handkerchiefs raised to high heaven as they danced to melodious tunes from the retinue of invited gospel artistes.

The yearly concert which began in 2003 was bigger this year, with attendees offering gratitude to God and the organisers for the initiative.

“This is the third edition of this programme I am attending. There is no better way to start Christmas than this. You know what Fadeyi is notorious for. This programme will continue to help save souls, said a resident of Fadeyi, Elder Wilson Onime.

Interestingly, the programme also attracted worshippers from other Christian denominations and faith. To them, the decision to attend, was as a result of testimonies emanating from previous editions and the fact that they can dance to praise God as they will.

One of such people is Prophetess Adeola Kayode of Celestial Church of Christ, CCC, Fadeyi, who said “The Bible says we should not forsake the assembly of one another. I don’t do religion but worship the God of our Lord Jesus Christ and anywhere they call Jesus, I am there to associate with them. Because he was born for me and has seeing me through all my issues of 2018, I have come to join my brethren to offer him praise.”

Apart from praises, the show also had a brief moment of sharing the word of God by Pastor Chuks Goddey Aghaunor of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, David’s Court, Fadeyi. “We want everyone to know that Jesus Christ is the reason for the season and most importantly, no matter how long any one has been in darkness, the light that cannot be exstiguished has emerged. No matter your religion, no one can deny the sovereignty of Jesus Christ.” He was later joined by other ministers of God for the anointing of the crowd.

The convener, Barr. Onwubualili Sylvester, hinted that the team of promoters of the concert, remains focussed on the mission of the praise show, “to impact and rebrand our community for good by broadcasting the good news of the gospel to our community through Praise evangelism”.

According to him, thanking God for the end of another year and praying for favour in the new year, “is a way of giving back to the society which housed us while we lived in it”.

This 16th edition in the series of the yearly concert, gave the crowd an experience of a worship at the church without walls, and had lineup of talented artistes including: RCCG, David’s Court Choir, Sola Solagbade, Grace Davies, Lekan, Opeyemi and the Mystery Crew, Spencer, Gabriel Daniels, Olumighty, Femi, Jesus Peoples’ band among others.
