Versatile and Industrious Group Head, Corporate Affairs and Marketing Communications at First Bank Nigeria Plc. Mrs Folake Ani-Mumuney has emerged the 10th president of the Advertisers Association of Nigeria.
She set a record as the first female president of the body at the last Annual General Meeting held on Thursday the 14th of September 2017 at the Shell Hall MUSON Centre Onikan, Lagos.
A seasoned marketer and communicator, Folake has gained a wealth of experience across Banking, Aviation, fast moving consumer goods (FMCG), Manufacturing and Oil and Gas Industry sectors over the paat 20 years.
She has cut edges in various capacities including; leading strategy and business planning, process reengineering, new business development and marketing,
A woman of intelligence, integrity, passion and purpose, with dogged determination and insight, Folake brings her wealth of experience as she mounts the saddle of ADVAN for the period of her leadership.
Other members of the new regime include: Mr. Babarinde Abiona of Coscharis Group , Ex-officio; Mrs. Nkiru Olumide-Ojo of Stanbic IBTC Bank, 2nd Vice President; Mrs. Nnenna Osi-Anugwa of Unilever Nigeria, Treasurer and Mr. Onome Asagbara of Dufil Prima Foods, Publicity Secretary.
In a speech while inaugurating new executives of the body, Ani-Mumuney expressed delight for being chosen by the Association to manage its affairs.
“It is extremely rewarding to be deemed fit to run this office by an association I have been part of for a long time. To that end, I am humbled. I will ensure that the period I have to serve as the ADVAN President will see positive changes, collaboration and partnership. We will build capacity in the industry and create more value for members”.
She said her leadership will focus on knowledge sharing and creating the right atmosphere among stakeholders to deepen the market.
“We will achieve our objectives because there is a core objective of ADVAN and that is to ensure that we are coalition builders. We will sustain collaboration among our various stakeholder groups – media, regulators and other sectoral groups,”she stated.
Folake holds a degree in Philosophy and Law and also a Diploma in Business Computing Systems Analysis and Design. She also holds several management certificates and belongs to many professional bodies.
She started her career with British Airways Plc. and was responsible for Brand policies and Communication across Europe and Africa made up of over 59 countries. She then moved on to become a Business Analyst, Strategy, and Business Planning Manager, New Business Development Manager and Head of Marketing and Communication Manager Africa.
After leaving British Airways Plc., she served in the Brands Dept of Dangote Industries as Chief Marketing and Communication Officer.
