“[Racism] is a real thing and it’s more prevalent now than I have ever seen in my lifetime.”
Pop singer Justin Bieber has aligned himself with the Black Lives Matter movement according to an Instagram post by the “Baby” crooner. On Friday afternoon, the 23-year-old posted the Black Lives Matter logo alongside a caption in which he pledged to use his fame to advocate for racial justice.
“I am a white Canadian and I will never know what it feels like to be an African American,”Bieber wrote. “But what I do know is I am willing to stand up and use my voice to shine light on racism, because it’s a real thing and it’s more prevalent now than I have ever seen in my lifetime.. we are all Gods children and we are ALL EQUAL.”
Bieber, who once regularly made headlines for his rebellious antics, isn’t known to be affiliated with any other social movements. But it looks like the kid has turned over a new leaf.
