In the world of Rotarians, history was made at the Rotary Club of Ikorodu Golden as PSP. ROTN. Bunmi Funmilayo Adegoke was installed as the first female president of the chapter on the 14th of October 2017.
The ceremony was held at the prestigious White House Hotel along Toyin Street in Ikeja and had all the glitz, pomp and color deserving of the elite club as members and friends thronged the venue to give honor to whom honor was due.
The choice of ROTN. Bunmi Adegoke as president of the ikorodu golden could well be said to be in synchronization with the 4-way test of the club, in the sense that the induction ceremony is expected to build goodwill and better friendship, was fair to all concerned, will definitely be beneficial to all concerned and was done in all truth and fairness.
Adegoke who is the second president of the Ikorodu golden hails from Ondo State. A holder of National Diploma from the Yaba College of Technology, She also acquired a Bachelor degree in Business Administration from the University of Lagos and a Masters degree in Philosophy to cap it.
A professional in travel, tourism and hospitality from the Greenwich College in the UK, ROTN. Adegoke has attended a number of management seminars and conferences both in the country and beyond.
A seasoned administrator, one of Bunmi Adegoke’s distinguishing features is her in-depth understanding of the sanctity of the marriage institution which has made her a respected counselor on the matter both to spinsters and married couples.
Bunmi is a member of the Nigerian Institute of Management, member, Nigerian British Association, Publicity Secretary, SKAL International (MD’s of Travel Agencies), Treasurer, Ikorodu Travel Forum and member, National Association of Nigerian Travel Agencies among others. Her hobbies include travelling, listening, music, meeting people and cooking.
Paro/packaging baby as she is fondly called, Bunmi was born October 12, 1971. She is happily married with two lovely children.
Rotary Club International was founded by Paul P. Harris who was born on April, 18, 1868. Harris who worked as a newspaper reporter, a business college teacher, a stock company actor,, cowboy, salesman as well as a lawyer devoted a great deal of his time reflecting on the conditions of life and business. When he had built a definite philosophy of business relations, he came up with the idea of organizing a club which came into being on February 23rd, 1905. This club formed the nucleus of the thousands of Rotary clubs organized throughout the world today.
